Beautiful Bruges... This small town is by far the most romantic of all Belgian cities. And you will have known that, because you are probably not the only one who wants to discover Bruges.

For years, thousands of tourists have been coming to it, perhaps also because it has been on the UNESCO World Heritage List since 2000.

Bruges looks like a picturesque open-air museum. The historic city centre is a collection of charming streets, impressive facades and atmospheric squares. It's like being catapulted back to 1900.

Looking for a romantic moment? Then be sure to plan a boat trip on the canals or a ride in the horse-drawn carriage. Bruges is not very big, and thanks to the many car-free streets an ideal destination to discover on foot.

In the past, these were typical working-class neighborhoods. The neighborhood has undergone a real transformation and from a fairly quiet and not very exciting neighborhood it is today the place of students, yuppies and artists. And that has ensured that you will encounter countless hotspots, studios, nice brown cafes and various galleries where the classic of Bruges is combined with the hip.

Don't forget to have a beer in the oldest brown café in the city. In the Langestraat you can eat out again. Ideal district if you want to discover Bruges from a different side.

In this district you will find the largest museums in Bruges, such as the Groeninge Museum, the St Janshospitaal or the Gruuthusemuseum. All around you can taste the delicious Belgian chocolate and ditto beer.

Be sure to stroll along the numerous Almshouses, residential areas that have arisen from charity since the 14th century, the Minnewaterpark, the most romantic place in the city and the Beguinage with its relaxing monastery garden.

This neighborhood is ideal if you want to take a breath in a calm(er) environment. It is a central yet quiet residential area just next to the center.

Centrally located is the Astrid park with the neo-Gothic Magdalena church and 'The Golden Triangle', the place of the locals to shop. It is a more expensive neighborhood, and you pay a little more here but you also get more than value for your money. Design, vintage, artistic, you will find it all in one of the many specialty stores.

The Burg is the soul of Bruges: This imposing square full of grandeur is surrounded by mysterious monuments. They were completed over the centuries, which is clearly noticeable in the typical, ever-changing architectural styles.

The Markt has been dominated for centuries by the 83-meter-high Belfry, one of the most beautiful buildings in the city. Climb it all the way to the top and you will enjoy an insanely beautiful panorama.

Here you are in the heart of the city with the canals, squares, authentic houses, towers, in short everything that Bruges is so famous for.
