Ypres
Ypres not only has a centuries-old history, the city is best known as the unofficial capital of Flanders Fields, where the history of the First World War is still visible and even tangible.
Every day the residents commemorate these horrific events. Traces can be found everywhere, in the Flanders Fields Museum as well as under the Memorial Monument the Menin Gate. To this day, The Last Post resounds there every night, as a tribute to the soldiers who lost their lives here. To be grateful that we can live in peace today.
