Ghent

Ghent is a place that breathes history, but also offers modern entertainment. It is a friendly city where you sometimes imagine yourself in the Middle Ages, with its impressive historic buildings, authentic cobbled roads and ancient churches.

A city trip to Ghent equals visiting museums, extensive shopping and delicious food

In the summer you can go wild at the famous Gentse Feesten. On board a boat you explore the city center along the waterways and admire the three towers of the city: St. Bavo's Cathedral with the world-famous Lamb of God, the Belfry with the golden dragon and St. Nicholas' Church.

Stroll around the car-free center where you will find a mix of beautiful squares, beautiful facades, cool shopping streets, modern architecture, typical cafes, beautiful museums and numerous restaurants for eating out. The Gentenaar is known as extremely social.

That makes Ghent the perfect city for a first introduction to the blissful Belgian way of life.

Ghent in brief

If you like to stay in a bustling area, this is the place for you. The Patershol and the Prinsenhof are typical small and cozy places. You can easily get lost in the numerous charming alleys.

Do you like markets? In St Jacobs you can visit a large flea market every weekend. You can have a nice drink or go out in the very cozy Vlasmarkt.
